This book was just too racial for me! All the black panther and all this hate towards the "black" man stuff and the "Uncle Tom" cop that hemmed up Rashad *sigh* it was just too much. I just couldn't get into the book and the stupidity of a stripper having $20k in a shoe box but STILL living in the projects in a ROACH infested project apartment at that with a young child!!! Smh was just stupid I made the mistake of buying part 2 when I bought part 1. Due to all the "great" reviews so I read that 1 but the story didn't even get any better Rashad leaves Moniquue for white girl Game(Georgia Mae) who is pregnant but the baby isn't even Rashad's and his dumb self doesn't even know it. Again this book was just too racisl for me I mean I am all for black power but when THAT is the focal point of your book......it is a waste of time and money because the characters in the book, and us the readers suffer. We are left with a book that wants to send a message that isnt done properly shoot the characters themselves is a contradiction to message the author was trying to send. But, at the end when the author gave a shout out to Matulu Shakur then it all made sense but the book still sucked and was just plain NOT worth the money. I decided to give an honest review on this book to hopefully help someone and steer them from wasting their money.Product details

Leo, MAAANN you've done it again for me. This is why you are one of my top favorite authors to date. Jack is a FOOL! Monique is...Well, I'm not sure yet what to say about her. I got it now. She's a woman that's doing what it takes for her family or is she going about it the wrong way? This new "world" is NOT her world, and now that Rasheed has seen a part of the world she lives in, I see it all happening right before my eyes. And don't get me started on Game. THAT CHICK RIGHT THERE, is about to be trouble. I see it now. Poor Monique fonts go to blows bout her man. Please excuse the Ebonics. Just had to keep it real for a second. Gina...I'm still learning her story.
Jack & Gina are 2 of a kind they will knock anybody down that comes in there path Jack couldn't wait to hit the streets again after being in prison for so long when all the while he knew that he was set up REVENGE is his motto Rasheed & Monique are 2 high school kids that fell in love but I do understand why she chose to do the things she do bcuz she wants a better life for her family now that I have read the ending it was time for some whoop ass I just hope Monique knows what she has gotten herself into on to the next book
Leo Sullivan did it again. An eyre for an eye and tooth for a tooth, page turning urban fiction book constantly keeping you on your toes...when life throws you a curve ball, you have to keep rolling with the punches. Rasheed an up and coming basketball player was at the wrong place and time with his friend, Jack. Rasheed suffered the consequences of missing his time to shine as a potential draft pick and providing for his family. Monique, the mother of his son was forced to use her gift of dance to provide for her family....once Jack was released from jail, his mission is to make everyone pay the ultimate price for his time lost....Jack(Clyde) and Gina(Bonnie) has a plan in motion to make any and everyone pay by any means necessary....hell has no fury by a man built with rage!
Let me start by saying that I liked the book, but it was quite gruesome . The death of Damon Dice was extreme overkill. The kidnapping of G Solo and Prophet was somewhat comical. Jack was straight up OLD SCHOOL GANGSTA and executioner all in one. Gina the wanna be gangsta who faints or gets queasy at every hit is going to have to grow some (balls) figuratively speaking if she is gong to bout that life. Georgia Mae (Game) the white girl who wants to be black is cool she is true to what she believes. Monique (Fire) is not as aware as she needs to be but I like her though she does what she needs too to make her family work and Rasheed I need a little bit more from him he has to step up and be a MAN. I will read part 2 because I have to know what becomes of Monique and Rasheed and what Jack's next move is because he is on some sickness I can't even explain.
I suppose lots of people will look at this and not see anything new. A lunatic with a penchant for sadistic murder gets out of jail to get his revenge and his friend is being sucked in but trying to better his life for himself and his family. Plenty of racism and hardship in urban life with the lure of money and drugs and depravity just around the corner for al characters involved
but, and there is a but.
it is pretty good. there is something very compelling in the what's going to happen next nature of the story. the characters are well written and you really need to see what is going to happen to them, even the lunatic who is out of jail and on the path of vengeance against the people who put him there. it isn't too long for a book but be warned, if you are going to read this one, it is going to be very difficult to set it down or leave it for a while before you have to come back to it.
Gina is every woman a man would dream of. She held her man down while he was in prison, on the streets, getting money, and putting that murdering game down. All in the name of love!!!
Jack Lemon is anyone's worst nightmare. Oh boy, if you cross his you're liable to have a closed casket funeral, forever missing, and robbed.
Monique is the backbone of her family and will do anything to provide for her family, as any real woman would. Her boyfriend Rasheed is having a hard time bouncing back after taking a charge. Rasheed's dream is to be a professional basketball player, but choices change things.
Georgia Mae is a black woman stuck in a white skin. Imagine that big ads, small waist, nice perky boobs , and homegirl got rhythm.
I fell in love with all characters and the plot was on point. Don't miss out and one click!!
